- Description
Berkeley Art Center (BAC) with its graceful seven-sided gallery, was designed and built by the Ratcliff architecture firm and donated by Rotary International to the CITY OF BERKELEY in 1967.
The mission of the Berkeley Art Center is to serve the diverse and creative citizens of Berkeley, through the presentation of visual art exhibitions, musical performances and literary programs relevant to its unique community.
It is located in Live Oak Park, set in a grove of trees along Codornices Creek -- one of Berkeley’s eight artesian springs. The beautiful setting enhances the ability of BAC to serve as the City’s municipal art gallery, although BAC is designated as a private, non-profit organization.
